This Playter Estates area Toronto home renovation was a love letter to colour, a bold assertion of personal style executed with impeccable taste. The project involved a two-story rear addition, creating expanded children's bedrooms and a new kitchen and dining area. This modern rear addition features black pre-stained cedar cladding, large floor-to-ceiling windows, and a raw unfinished cedar deck. The colourful contemporary kitchen features natural wood elements and hand-painted cement board tile. We transformed the basement into a living space by underpinning and finishing it, creating a cheery and well-lit space.

Sleek and Modern 

Our contemporary home addition in Leslieville is a testament to the power of interesting shapes, materials, and colours. The project involved a doorless shower, open and airy central stairs, a two-sided gas fireplace, and a serene modern aesthetic that is equally eye-catching and functional.

Little Italy

We love this blend of old-world charm and modern luxuries. SevernWoods renovated this majestic detached three-story Victorian in Toronto’s Little Italy to create a beautiful family home for the ages. The project involved underpinning the basement, removing central columns to open up the space, and redesigning the third floor with taller walls and a much grander volume. The exterior retains its traditional appearance, with a beautiful oak front door and stained-glass window. Inside, the transitional design blends classic elements like plaster moulding and ornate millwork with a modern, open-concept kitchen.

City Farmhouse

This project in Playter Estates is a blend of country feel and modern open-concept design. The combination of dark stained shaker cabinets, dark quartz counters, classic stained glass kitchen window, and a white porcelain apron front farm-style sink achieve a country feel in a modern kitchen. Our work throughout this fantastic modern farmhouse in Playter Estates creates a cohesive and comfortable living space for the next century.

Nature-Inspired Renovation

Our renovation in The Annex is a testament to the power of natural elements in design. The project involved a stepped rear addition extending from the basement to the third floor, creating a deck and outdoor living space on each floor. The main floor includes dark stained oak floor and tile, a “birch forest” wall mural in the dining area, and acid-etched floor-to-ceiling windows. The contemporary staircase, made of glass railings and wooden stairs, is another highlight. We used crystal clear glass instead of standard glass, which typically has a green hue. This allows true colours to show when looking through it, enhancing the natural light in the home and creating a sense of openness.
